Find the rates per cubic meter for the following items using delhi schedule of rates 2012 (available at https://sites.google.com/site/civilsharda2010/downloads-1). Also compare your rates from the given rate in DSR 2012,
a)Pointing on brick work with cement mortar 1:3 (1cement : 3 fine sand) : Flush / Ruled/ Struck or weathered pointing
b) Cement concrete in foundation 1:5:10 (1 cement : 5 coarse sand : 10 graded stone aggregate

The breakup of marks will be as follows:
Diary: 50 marks
Technical Report: 100 marks
Technical Presentation: 50 marks
Viva-Voce: 100 marks
You are all required to prepare a technical presentation (ppt) of about 10 minutes duration.

Presentation for Quantity Surveying course
Presentation for quantity surveying course will be conducted as per the following dates :
Section A - 15 Sep 2012 Time : 10 AM onward
Section B - 29 Sep 2012 Time : 10 AM onward
Ideally it should be individual presentation. However you can make team of 2-3 members. Maximum number of students in a team should not exceed 3. Your group members should be from same section. For example if you are in section A then group members should be from Section A and vice versa. Evaluation for presentation will be done and attendance is mandatory. If you are absent then marks will be deducted accordingly. The presentation should be 10-15 minute duration.
You are free to choose any of the topic mentioned below. Presentation on the same topic by different teams cannot be same. If it is found that any other presentation is similar to yours, it will result into losing of marks for all the teams having similar presentation.
EVALUATION SCHEME
Presentation Content 10 marks
Accurate, informative, good balance of breadth and depth, demonstrates
understanding of fundamentals, demonstrates insight into leading edge of
knowledge on topic, educates audience effectively, handles questions well.
Presentation Style 10 marks
Effective slides, material sufficiently referenced, effective delivery, professional
style, polished, articulate, good pace, captivates audience.
Send me an email (gaurav.goel@sharda.ac.in) containing name and roll number of your group members and topic by 8 Sep 2012 (Saturday) positively. No changes in group members will be accepted later.

Assignment of Adv RCC CVL 401

Q.1 Clear dimension of a staircase hall is 3mX 6m; floor to
floor height is 3.60m. A two flight stair is to be provided. Design the overall
geometry of stairs.
Q.2 Use the same geometry, design the stairs. The stair is
used inside a public building. The landing slab is in the same direction as the
stair slab and is supported by the walls at their ends.
Q.3 A stair with an open well consists of two flights and a
span partly crossing at right angle. There are 12 steps of rise 150mm , tread
300mm in each flight and 6 steps in cross span. Width of landing and stair is
1.150m. the landings are to be supported on the walls at the ends. Design the
